Obama and Sarkosy enjoying the view

By TODD VENEZIA

Baby got Barack!

The leader of the free world and his French counterpart were caught sneaking a peek at a the pink-satin-draped booty of a 17-year-old junior G-8 delegate just moments before the summit’s official group photo was snapped in Italy yesterday.

Instant political classic and my new desktop background.

Phillips Family at Ranch Centennial

100 years ago William F. Phillips stopped his horse, climbed down from the saddle and decided that this bare piece of Western South Dakota dirt would be home.  Our family still owns the property where my great-grandfather laid claim in 1909 and as the North Star Ranch joined the elite company of Centennial Ranches this weekend the Phillips and Reichert families threw quite the celebration.

Over 200 people turned out to tour the respective familes homestead sites, eat Lynn Mcnenny’s famous smoked beef tenderloin and watch the best fireworks show in Hereford history.

A stone monument was erected for the occasion and everyone in attendance was filled with pride for the community and a little bit of the pioneer spirit.

Here’s to the next 100 years.
